Anyway, I haven’t used it, but I pulled it out of the drawer to look at it for this review.

It works fine. My only complaint is that it has a little red light that is always on whenever it’s plugged in. This might drain the battery if you leave it plugged in with your car off for too long (in cars that power the outlet even when the car is off). So I can’t just keep it plugged in all the time like I intended to.

I ordered one of these from Amazon , a “Custom Accessories CU070051 12V Twin Plug in Accessory Sockets” a few weeks ago, and it’s been working great in my car. It has a small red light to indicate that it’s connected to the car’s 12V socket. The two/twin sockets allow me to plug other 12V items into the car simultaneously. I’ve been using this with my GPS unit, and my Phone, with no issues. Pretty basic, but flexible (rather than like some of these that are larger and not as flexible to work with).

I got this to connect a nav system, and a dvd player (or a cellphone charger, or a gameboy charger, or what have you). The plugs fit just fine; the only time I had one fall out was when I allowed one to hang down and wiggle.
It’s pretty much what you see, and want to get. Only reason for docking the star is the absence of a secure clip or retainer mechanism.
